Ceduna 13 - Things we like and things we'll replace
Things we like:
- The storage space
- How solid it is
- Easy setup
- The Victron setup is very good at what it does
Things we'll fix soon
- The Trailer plug
- ie: This is the plug that controls indicators and brake lights etc.
- I've found the plug to be poor quality and the connectors unreliable and was the original reason why the reverse camera failed. Plugging it in today, I found that some of the terminals got pushed inside the plug itself.
- This is a warranty job.
- The annex
- The Dometic annex is unreliable. Not sure what we'll do there, maybe a warranty job too.
- Move some electricals around
- Position of stereo
- Position of USB charger.
Things we'll replace in the next year
- Light Switches:
- Will replace with a wireless light base station and install remote terminals near the bed, on the inside near the door at a good height for internal use and outside in the foldout workbench
- The outside Surround Lights
- A single switch controls two different outside lights (called surround lights) with completely different purposes. These lights should have their own switches. The rear light is part of the "surround lights" and is useless when the bed is folded out.
- The water pump
- Too noisy, there is pipe hammer. It feels like the whole camper is shaking when you turn it on.
- Inside Main Lights
- The inside main lights consume about 5 amps - that's about as much as the fridge. This is excessive and the lights need to be replaced with something more efficient.
Things we'll get to at some point
- Stereo
- The stereo is poorly placed and the sound quality is awful, will replace it with a Fusion system. We'll probably move the stereo first before replacing it.
- The reverse camera.
- Considering the price for the reverse camera, I'd be better off installing a Go Pro and using my iPhone as a View finder, mounting it on the odd occasion I need it. The installed camera is too fault prone to rely on.
- Victron Upgrade
- Victron Colour Control
- 3000 Ah Invertor/Charger
- 3 x 160 Ah Lithium Batteries - I've checked the space already and there's room. 3 x 160 seems to be the best price/space point.
- Electrical wiring, some of the wiring doesn't seem right, jury is out still out on that one.
